  • An urban tree that has reached 100 years old.
  • These are the trees and the stories Urban Tree Doctor and lead arborist, Jennifer, have supported, loved and taken care of, and turned around for better tree health to make them thrive.

CENTURION TREE

Lily

Lily is one of our oldest Live oak trees we take care for within the last 3 years. We originally were called to examine and develop a plan towards the end of construction of building a new home. Lilly, named after the street she lives on, was in a vacant lot all to herself on a lake when the property was purchased and decided to have her as the main feature in front of the house with a circle drive around her. What seemed to be an impossible task in the beginning with a lot of stress and loss of roots. We were able to work with Lily for several years through the construction project and improve her health to where she is today. Regal. Lily boasts our greatest tree in size we care for at 90″ DBH (Diameter at Breast Height).

CENTURION TREE

Lala

Where it all started. Me hugging Lala. Our oldest client that we started seeing when we were offering consulting services only and decided to start treatments because of Lala. She was named after our client’s grandmother nicknamed “Lala” who was born about the same time as Lala started growing. She is a great 78″ DBH (diameter at Breast Height) Live oak in the College Park neighborhood of Orlando and was a worry to their owner since a large limb fell and wanted to assess the risk of Lala for the safety of their home since Lala takes up the whole backyard and then some! With careful pruning, treatment and every other year exams, Lala is still the pride of the home with a swing.

CENTURION TREE

Zeus

A mighty fine grand tree (our only male named centurion tree) Live oak that grew between two old homes in Orlando. Soon to get a new owner as the two parcel lands were bought and now one home will be soon built with Zeus as the center stage. Zeus is 57″ DBH (Diameter at Breast Height) as our smaller live oaks we help manage but knowing that the landscape has never been irrigated and the tree has only had minor pruning, he older than you think as a wonder and staple to the older Hourglass district near south downtown Orlando.

CENTURION TREE

Eden

On of our newer centurion Live oaks, Eden, was undergoing some stress with the building of a new home. Compared to other trees under stress, the previous owners had additional soil and ground cover over the roots of the tree. We had to perform root surgery or a root collar excavation to help turn Eden around. She provides great shade for the front yard of the home and value to the property. We were happy to save Eden as she is 65″ DBH (Diameter at Breast Height) and can be found closer to Maitland.
CENTURION TREE

Grandma Tree

Home to a southern owner who could not be without this gem in the front yard. A large live oak 70″ DBH who has seen a lot throughout the years being so close to downtown Orlando. Growing in a limited space, recently she had the front of the street dug up for utilities and was too close for the homeowner to not do anything. We were able to help grandma and support her through some of the ups and downs of people imposing space into their root system. She is doing well and continues to support the wildlife with other trees nearby.

CENTURION TREE

Marcus

Our most recently named live oak but not a new client, Marcus was first introduced to us with overall decline. Clients were considered for safety and managing the limb over the backside slope to the lake. Marcus is a 62″ DBH (Diameter at Breast Height) Live oak enjoying the view of downtown and great tree parents. Been through storm damage and root surgery for tree roots that have been buried but thriving today and proud to be under our care.
